June 25th – Disaster Preparedness Round Table

As the 2011 hurricane season approaches and the current flooding reminds us of the ever-present possibility of disaster, Foundation for Louisiana is committed to providing learning opportunities to help communities be better prepared. Please join us for the 2nd Annual Disaster Preparedness Round Table – "Creating a Community of Readiness and Response" – on Saturday, June 25th from 8:30am – 1:00 pm @ Dillard University's Professional Building, 2601 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70122. This event is intended for neighborhood leaders, small business owners, and faith leaders and will feature presentations from agencies including FEMA, the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Louisiana Appleseed, the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner and the Louisiana State Police. Subjects to be covered include readiness and response, how local government works during disaster, protecting your property, and resources for recovery.
