Foundation's LEAD Program kicks off leadership workshop March 25

Participants learned about FFL's work and mission and were introduced to some of the skills and issues that will be covered in the workshop: civic participation, neighborhood transformation, social justice, leadership development, and civic values, rights and responsibilities. The LEAD Program stands for "Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy, Development."

FFL and Propeller form new loan fund with $500,000 from Living Cities

Through this effort, Propeller and Foundation for Louisiana will make loans to non-profit and for-profit social ventures that are solving pressing issues in food access, water management, educational equity, and health. The partnership will seek to address funding gaps faced by New Orleans’s small businesses, particularly those owned by women and entrepreneurs of color, by offering loans with favorable terms and providing ongoing mentorship and guidance to borrowers.

UNO class offers Certificate in Community Development Finance for working adults

The program will focus on real estate finance, financial analysis and real estate development to support stronger, more resilient and equitable communities. Due to a short launch period and strong demand, the program will start on Jan. 11, 2017. This will allow more time for applicants to plan and prepare for the upcoming coursework. Registration is open through Jan. 6, 2017
