Claiborne Corridor Ambassadors host "Safe-Tea on the Lafitte Greenway" Friday to raise safety awareness
The event will be held at the Broad Street Theatre (636 N Broad St.) near the Greenway’s crossing at North Broad Street, identified by the Ambassadors as a high-need area for education and awareness. Participants at the event will be able to create and display their own safety signs to help raise awareness of the importance of this issue.
Organizers hope the effort will increase drain-cleaning awareness in advance of the hurricane season. Partners in the effort include the 7th Ward Neighborhood Association, St. Roch Neighborhood Association, Bunny Friend Neighborhood Association, the Greater Treme Consortium, the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board, Water Wise NOLA, Tulane Prevention Resource Center and more. Foundation for Louisiana is a funder of Water Wise NOLA through its Equity Caucus.
