Foundation for Louisiana is now accepting applications for its Arts Scholarship Program supporting Louisiana undergraduates pursuing creative fields. This opportunity is open to students planning to attend a college or technical school during the 2026–20267 academic year and pursuing studies in visual arts, theater arts, music, culinary arts, dance, literature or poetry, design or fashion, arts administration, film, animation, and other artistic practices.
The scholarship is designed to support the next generation of Louisiana creatives whose work shapes culture, storytelling, and community life across the state.

We are excited to announce that applications for the 2026-27 Armature Scholarship Fund open on April 1, 2026.

Who Should Apply?
We encourage applications from:
- Students who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) and/or as LGBTQIA+
- Louisiana residents who have lived in the state for at least four years
- Individuals pursuing any post-secondary education in arts-related fields, including but not limited to: visual arts, culinary arts, theater, music, design, and dance
What You’ll Receive
Awards range up to $15,000 per student, based on demonstrated financial need and cost of attendance.
In the 2025–26 cycle, the Armature Scholarship Fund awarded $85,623 in scholarships to eleven students from across Louisiana pursuing post-secondary education in the arts. These recipients reflect the creative breadth and cultural depth of our state’s communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ students whose artistic voices contribute to Louisiana's rich cultural landscape.
Awardees are pursuing degrees in a wide range of fields, including:
- Theatre Arts
- Theatre Design
- Film (B.A.)
- Culture, Literature, and the Arts
- Sequential Art
- Painting and Drawing
- Digital Art (BFA)
- Architecture
Each recipient received tailored support not only for tuition but also for academic success, supplemental transportation support, and care-centered check-ins throughout the academic year.
This commitment to holistic artist support ensures that voices, not circumstance, shapes the trajectory of Louisiana's next generation of cultural leaders.
