FFL Launches the Solidarity Fund
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Solidarity Fund. Supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, this initiative is a testament to FFL's dedication to transforming the philanthropic landscape to achieve racial justice, especially in regions historically impacted by racial disparities.
The Solidarity Fund aims to empower Louisiana-based nonprofits, focusing on those excluded from access to flexible funding due to systemic barriers prevalent in the Deep South, such as racism, sexism, classism, ableism, and heterosexism. This fund recognizes the need for these organizations to have access to flexible financial resources to make a substantial impact in their communities. The Solidarity Fund is a critical part of FFL's strategy to dismantle racial hierarchies and promote collective liberation and self-determination for People of the Global Majority.
Eligible nonprofits can utilize these funds for a variety of initiatives, including fundraisers, learning opportunities, convenings, community events, and awareness campaigns. To be eligible, applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or, have a fiscal sponsorship, and be based in Louisiana. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with a recommendation to apply at least 60 days before the event. The maximum award is $25,000, with an average award of $5,000 per organization per fiscal year. Sponsorship requests must be for events occurring on or before December 31, 2024.
